In case anyone's out there

It's been a crazy couple of weeks.  Mom was in the hospital with an infection in her legs (she is much better, thank you for asking).  I've had report cards and progress reports due, and computer problems that hampered my work.  Yes, technologically challenged me has to use the computer to keep grades and write reports.  No more hand written reports for us here in Rochester.  I think I'm caught up.

On the adoption front...all I can say is "slow and steady wins the race."  Paperwork is so overwhelming.  There is so much more to do than when we adopted Wyatt.  Or maybe I just don't remember.  Yesterday was HZ's birthday.  He turned seven.  Hopefully it will be his last without a family.  I can't wait to squeeze that little body and kiss those cheeks.  The discussion is on going as to a name.   Right now we refer to him a Li'l Bro.  I think I can now reveal his picture, but you know me and computers.  I'll keep trying.

Well, since I'm mostly caught up with my school paperwork I think I'm going to go to bed "early" tonight.

This and That

Funny comment of the day:  Wyatt was playing with his friend X in the dojang waiting room this evening.  X was taking the cushions off the chairs and Wyatt pointed to the security camera and said, "The camera is right there.  Mrs. Ra can see you.  She's just like God, only not as big."

Things I never thought I'd say:
Please don't use me as a Kleenex.
No Tae Kwon Do in the shower!!!
Eat your chicken before you can have more asparagus.
No you can't eat out of the dog's bowl.
We don't play WWF in the backseat while we're driving.
No sword fighting (light saber fight) while the car is in motion.

Just think, in a few short months (God willing and the creek don't rise) we'll have another one who, I'm sure, will want to practice his "highly dangerous moves" on his older brother.  Can't wait!  I've tried putting fundraising links over the side and can't get it to work.  Any suggestions?

Can You Hear Me Rejoicing?

We received PA today!!!  That means China has given us the go ahead to adopt HZ.  Now the race really begins.  More fundraisers are on the horizon.  Stayed tuned!

Things Heard Around Here Lately

Wyatt's advice to HZ: "Never hold your breath for a really long time.  It's not good for your health.  Trust me, I know!"

"Mom, you can't stop kissing me.  I'm irresistible."

While Wyatt was playing with his pirates I overheard this conversation between his men:  "Men, this will take a lot of mental fortitude.  By the way, we were going to launch a secret attack, but that wouldn't be fair."

"Mom, you are not as old as you look."

This boy of ours is good for a chuckle I'll tell ya.

I Live in a Toy Shop

I realized the other day there are a lot of toys in my house.  Every where I look I see toys.  Toys piled in the corner ("I put them where they belong sort of mom.").  Toys hanging out of the toy bins.  Toys on the sofa, under the blanket (when did my sofa become a toy box?)  Toys under my recliner.  I think it's time to purge.  But that takes time and energy I don't have at the moment....  Maybe tomorrow.
By the way, happy 91st birthday Dad.

My Son's Heart

In the grocery store this afternoon Wyatt said to me, "Mom, after we bring HZ home I think we need to give our extra money to bring other ones home."  I asked if he meant another sibling.  No, he meant other children to their families.  I do love that boy.

In other news Wyatt participated in his first martial arts competition.  He was very nervous in the individual Kata (Poomse for those of us in Tae Kwon Do).  He didn't place, but he and a kind friend, JC, placed second in team Kata.  I knew he would do better in the team competition.  He loves demonstrations.  I am so proud of Wyatt for pushing himself beyond his comfort zone.  You rock buddy!
